Palma de Mallorca, October 3, 2024 – October 16th to 20th, the 8th edition of Mallorca Car Week will take place on the island. As last year, the main events will be held at the Steigenberger Hotel & Resort Camp de Mar and on Golf de Andratx. As of 2025, the Mallorca Car Week schedule will include “Arte Sobre Ruedas Mallorca™” a car-centric art project as permanent pillar of the yearly event. “Arte Sobre Ruedas Mallorca™ ” combines the artistic dimension of automotive design with other creative and art disciplines.

Álvaro Middelmann Blome Honorary President Mallorca Car Week Arte Sobre Ruedas

On Friday, October 18th, 2024, at 5:00 pm, the project will be presented by Álvaro Middelmann (Honorary President of the Mallorca Car Week) in an opening event at the Es Baluard Museu d’Art Contemporani de Palma as part of this year’s Mallorca Car Week. At this opening event with an exclusive museum tour, high-ranking supporters of the project such as Marga Prohens, President of the Balearic Islands, and Jaime Martínez, Mayor of Palma, will also be present.

In the past, similar events have taken place at some of the most prestigious museums such Museum of Modern Art in New York or Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao. Among others, legendary works by famous automobile designers such as Jean Bugatti, Marcello Gandini, Battista Pininfarina, and Colin Chapman have been exhibited presenting the creative symbiosis of art and automotive in the car industry.

Special exhibition “Art of Bugatti” planned for “Arte Sobre Ruedas Mallorca” in 2025

As part of next year’s Mallorca Car Week, we will strive to further build on the symbiotic connection between automobile design and art. We are proud to announce that “Arte Sobre Ruedas Mallorca” will be part of the 2025 Prologue of “The Art of Bugatti“, a special car-centric exhibition presenting the works of Carlos, Rembrandt, Ettore, and Jean Bugatti across various shows in Europe. From 2026 to 2028 “The Art of Bugatti” shall be hosted in the cities of Munich, Paris, and Palma, paying tribute to the cultural and artistic heritage of some of the most respected creative minds, which includes not only classic automobile design but also the design of furniture and sculptures.

Following the presentation of “Arte Sobre Ruedas”, Gerhardt Braun Gallery invites to an exclusive private reception at their premises. In addition to a beautiful 1957 Ford Thunderbird convertible, guests can admire the art of Heiner Meyer among other works.

During the Mallorca Car Week 2025, emblematic Bugatti vehicles will be displayed in Mallorca. In parallel and in cooperation with the island’s classic car clubs, the “Arte Sobre Ruedas Mallorca” will be flanked by a “Museum on Wheels” with automotive treasures being displayed on the island and visitors can touch and feel the classic designs by taking a tour in actual vintage cars from La Lonja’s old town to the Es Baluard Museu d’Art Contemporani in Palma.

International Concours d’Elegance 2024

On Saturday, October 19th, 2024, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, during the International Concours d’Elegance of Mallorca Car Week, some outstanding examples of automotive design will be displayed at Golf de Andratx. Automotive gems such as a 1927 Bentley Surbico, a 1957 Porsche Speedster 336, and a 1975 Alfa Romeo Montreal will be displayed and awarded at the Councours.

From 11:00 am, international art experts from Bonhams and Hiscox, the renowned auction house Bonhams and the leading insurance company respectively, will discuss “Quo Vadis Investments in Cars, Art, and Watches” during an expert panel. From 12:00 pm onwards, the online car magazine Semanal Clássico will present and interview insiders from the automotive world, such as H.R.H. Leopold Prince of Bavaria among others.

Starting at 11:00 am, international art experts from the renowned auction house Bonhams and the leading insurance company Hiscox will discuss the topic “Quo Vadis: Investments in Cars, Art, and Watches” during an expert panel. The online automotive magazine SemanalClássico will interview insiders from the automotive world, including H.R.H. Prince Leopold of Bavaria, starting at 12:00 pm.

About Mallorca Car Week: Mallorca Car Week, taking place from October 16 to 20, 2024, is a five-day experience centered around the theme of automobiles. Since its founding in 2016, the Mallorca Car Week has combined scenic drives through Mallorca’s picturesque landscape with an International Concours d’Elegance, captivating automotive enthusiasts from around the world.
